Entrevista con Desecration

¡Felicidades por vuestro primer tema! Las referencias que tenemos es que está gustando y, según los propios comentarios de vuestro MySpace, habéis sorprendido a mas de uno... ¿Estáis satisfechos del resultado? Albert: ¡Gracias! La verdad es que no lo esperábamos ninguno de los tres, ha sido toda una sorpresa. Lucas: Esperábamos que tanto el myspace como “Face your fear” pasaran desapercibidos, algún comentario de amigos, pero poca cosa más… y ¡parece que incluso a la gente que no nos conoce le ha gustado! Componer es complicado; pero componer, grabar y editar debe de serlo bastante más. ¿Qué ha sido mas complicado para vosotros, la creación del tema o grabarlo? Albert: Crear… Lo que es crear… yo he creado poco (risas) y grabar ha costado… y mucho. Lucas: Grabar ha sido complicado porque era nuestra primera vez, como grupo y como “técnicos de sonido”. Aprender a usar los programas, como grabarlo, el tempo, la incompatibilidad de Windows Vista… Cristian: Grabar ha costado más, además de por lo que dice Lucas, por Albert, que ¡no daba ni una! (risas) Como banda, como equipo ¿cuáles son vuestras influencias principales? Lucas: Esta es una pregunta complicada… Como banda, influencias te llegan de todas partes. Las bandas de toda la vida, las más típicas… Pero sobre todo las bandas de aquí, las de cada fin de semana, ¡con las que te vas de fiesta! Aggression, Northland, Steelgar, Crysys… Cristian: Y bueno, como dice nuestro myspace… Thrash Metal, Death Metal, True Metal y Underground!! Obviously beer, violence, girls, destruction, whisky, molestation and moshpit!!

Congratulations for your fist song! The news we have at the moment tell us your opera prima it's getting a good acceptance and, as they commented at your MySpace and YouTube, you have friends surprised ¿Are you satisfied with the result? Albert: ¡Thanks! The truth is that no one of us expected that, it has been a surprise for us. Lucas: We expected that both our myspace as the song “Face your fear” will go unnoticed, except for some comment from friends… and ¡it seems even people who doesn't knows us likes it! To write songs is not an easy job; but writing, recording, editing... this should be complicated. ¿What has been more difficult for you, writing or recording the song? Albert: Create… create… I've just developed not so much  (laughs) but recording has been hard… really. Lucas: To record has been complex because it has been our first experience, as a band and as "sound engineers". To teach ourselves with the software, how to record, the Vista incompatibilities… Cristian: To record has been the hardest thing, because what Lucas says and because Albert who missed everyone! (laughs) ¿What are the main influences you have as a band? Lucas: It's hard to say… As a band we receive influences from everywhere. The all time band, the tipical ones… But I will say mostly the local bands, the ones we follow each weekend, ¡the ones you party with! Aggression, Northland, Steelgar, Crysys… Cristian: And, as our MySpace states… Thrash Metal, Death Metal, True Metal y Underground!! Obviously beer, violence, girls, destruction, whisky, molestation and moshpit!!

Nos gustaría conoceros un poco más a cada uno de los componentes. ¿Nos podríais resumir vuestra experiencia musical y vuestros gustos individuales? Albert: Este es nuestro primer grupo serio, así que mucha experiencia... (risas) Yo principalmente pongo la voz en el grupo, e intento “parecerme” un poco a todo lo que voy escuchando y me gusta. Des de grupos clásicos como Manowar, me he ido decantando un poco por grupos de “nuestro” estilo, como Steelgar, que tienen una gran voz. Aun así no soy cerrado, y escucho todo tipo de Metal. Lucas: A ver… experiencia musical poca, la verdad… Nada serio. En cuanto a gustos… ¡Mi banda favorita ha sido, es y será siempre Manowar! Como guitarrista me quedo sin duda con Zakk Wylde… Que me marcó con el Wah Wah. El death metal también me gusta mucho, en especial Avulsed. Cristian: Bueno, Lucas ha olvidado mencionar a los Village People… (risas) Yo soy algo “diferente” en cuanto a gustos… Voy mas para vikingo pagano true blacker… ¡Pero tampoco olvido a Manowar, y el buen Thrash y Death Metal! Por ahora habéis publicado un único tema vuestro. ¿Tenéis más temas en cartera? ¿Cuándo esperáis ofrecérnoslos? Cristian: Bueno, hemos pensado retirarnos ahora que estamos en la cima… (risas) Tenemos ahora dos temas más, y algún otro en camino. Lucas: Ya adelantamos en nuestro Myspace que estábamos grabando el siguiente, que llevará por nombre “Molestation”, con un poco de tupatupatupa (risas), y saldrá la semana que viene. ¿Cómo veis la escena en barna y alrededores? ¿Qué bandas de la escena local os parecen más atractivas? Albert: Sin duda ahora esta habiendo una nueva oleada de Thrash Metal, con Steelgar, Aggression, Crysys, Redimoni… Vuelve a haber movimiento por aquí. Cristian: Y no solo Thrash, que Northland también están ganando mucha importancia. Ahora que dices no solo Thrash… ¿Os vais a cerrar en cuanto al estilo del grupo? Lucas: No, no, eso nunca. El Thrash ochentero esta muy bien, pero paso en los ochenta y ya han pasado muchos años. Tocamos lo que nos gusta, vestimos como nos gusta y haremos lo que queramos hacer. Cristian: No nos queremos cerrar en un estilo muy concreto. Además, es evidente que hay mil grupos iguales, y no queremos atascarnos en lo mismo.

We would like to know a little bit more each one of you. ¿Can you summarize your individual experience and your individual tastes? Albert: This is our first band, then experience...... (laughs) I, mainly, am the band's voice and I try to "look like" everything I heard and I like. From classic bands as Manowar, I've been changind to “or” style bands, as Steelgar, that have a great voice. But I'm not closed ans I like to hear eny kind of metal. Lucas: Let's see… musical experience, we have not so much… Nothing serious. Related to tastes… ¡My favourite band has been, is and will be Manowar! As a guitar player, Zakk Wylde… I was deeply marked by his Wah Wah. I also like a lot Death Meta, specially Avulsed. Cristian: Well, Lucas forgot to mention Village People… (laughs) I'm a bit  “diferente” related to the musical taste… I'm more viking pagan true blacker… ¡But I don't forget Manowar, and the good Thrash and Death Metal! At the moment, you have just released a sing. ¿There are more songs coming? ¿When do you expect to release them? Cristian: Well, we've thought on withdraw just now we are at the top… (laughs) Now we have two new songs and some more stuff on the way. Lucas: We said in our MySpace we were recording our second song called “Molestation”, with some tupatupatupa (laughs), we expect to publish it next week. ¿What do you think about the scene in Barcelona and surrounding area? ¿What band on the local scene soy you like more? Albert: For sure, there's a new wave of  Thrash Metal, with Steelgar, Aggression, Crysys, Redimoni… There's againg movement here. Cristian: And not only about Thrash, Northland is also getting more and more importance. You said "not only Thrash"… ¿Do you plan to be a only-thrash band? Lucas: No, no, never. Eighties Thrash is really good, but this happened in eighties and there's a lot of time till now. We play what we like, we dress as we like and we will do what we will want to do. Cristian: We don't want to limit ourselves in a specific style. In addition, obviously, there are thousands of bands and we don't want to block ourselves.

¿Para cuando la presentación en directo de la banda? ¿El set-list será sólo de temas propios? ¿Nos podéis avanzar algo a ese respecto? Espero que tengáis pensado grabarla en vídeo para presentarla a nuestros lectores... Lucas: La presentación llegara tan pronto como llegue el batería… Y no solo serán temas nuestros, alguna que otra versión también caerá. Y nada, ya se vera en su momento. En cuanto a lo de grabarlo… Si conseguimos el material, lo haremos. ¿Qué planes tenéis para los próximos meses? Cristian: Como ya he dicho antes… ahora que estamos en la cima nos vamos a retirar… (risas) Albert: Seguiremos grabando algunos temas, los que vayan saliendo, practicar… También queremos conseguir un logo propio, quizás montar una pequeña maqueta y sobre todo, conseguir batería. ¿Algún sueño? Lucas: Hombre… Tocar en el Kanya!!, que nos tiren unas bragas y pasearnos por los camerinos en albornoz… (risas) Cristian: Lo del Kanya si que es verdad... Fue nuestro primer concierto y seria todo un honor. Y lo del albornoz ya… (risas) Albert: Tocar en un Kanya estaría muy bien. ¡Quizás hasta demasiado! También estaría genial tocar en algún Thrash Em All, y como soñar es gratis… de aquí al Wacken… (risas) Pues esperamos que seáis capaces de  hacerlos realidad y de superarlos de largo. Gracias por vuestro tiempo. Y a ver cómo suena ese nuevo tema!

¿When do you plan to start playing live? ¿Do you plan a set-list only with your own songs? ¿So you have plans regarding this? I hope you plan to record your live shows to offer them to our readers... Lucas: The live presentation will come as soon as the drummer will come… And no, we don't plan to play only our songs; we plan to include some cover. But, this will be solved when the moment arrives. Related to record... If we can, we will do it. ¿What are your plans for the next months? Cristian: As I've told before... now that we are on the top we will withdraw … (laughs) Albert: We plan to record new songs, to create new ones, to practice… We also want to build our own logo, maybe to launch a demo and, first of all, get the drummer. ¿Some dream? Lucas: Of course… To play at Kanya!!, that somebody throws us panties and to walk the dressing room with bathrobe… (laughs) Cristian: The Kanya is a real dream for us... It was our first live concert ans will be a real honor. And the bathrobe, now… (laughs) Albert: To play in a Kanya edition will be amazing ¡Maybe it's too much! It will be also great to play in some Thrash Em All, and, as dreaming is for free… from here to  Wacken… (laughs) We hope you reach all of them and more. Thanks for your time.
