Kanya!!! 2009 balance (Interview Jose Luis González)

Justo a un mes del KANYA!!! 2009 De nuevo, José Luis González nos atiende para comentar este Kanya!!! 2009, como ya hiciera en los días anteriores, y hablar un poco de lo que nos espera dentro de un año.

One month after the KANYA!!! 2009 fest, once again, José Luis González, the KANYA!!! organizer, offers a piece of his time to us to talk about the recent edition of the Kanya!!! 2009, as he did the days before the fest, and to talk a bit about the the next year.

Qué balance haces de este KANYA!!!? -Esta edición supongo que ha sido la edición que se ha tenido en cuenta muchos errores de ediciones pasadas (sobre todo, la del año pasado). Aun tenemos más errores que subsanar, pero ya son los mínimos.

¿What’s your balance of this edition of KANYA!!!? -I think in this edition we have taken into account most of the errors from the past ones (specially the last one). Even if we still have much more errors to solve, I think there are minimums.

¿Se han cubierto tus expectativas? Nos referimos tanto a la calidad de las bandas, como a la afluencia de público etc. - Respecto a las bandas en todas las ediciones no he tenido nunca problemas con ellas, ya que, antes de decir toca tal banda, ya les he hecho un seguimiento y tengo en cuenta sobre todo su profesionalidad a la hora de estar fuera y dentro del escenario (que sean rápidos en los cambios, sean puntuales para probar sonido etc., no sean bordes con el resto de las bandas...) Y ya no digo nada de la calidad de las bandas... También está muy estudiado. La afluencia del público fue muy muy buena, y además de calidad :-) En el ayuntamiento aun no se creen que todos los años venga tanto greñudo y nunca haya el más mínimo incidente a destacar... Luego hacen cuatro niñatos fiestas de rock-pop y no veas los circos que montan...(es que no saben beber) :-)

¿Were fulfilled your expectations? I mean the quality of the bands, the public and so on. - We never have had problems with the bands in any edition of the fest. We follow the bands before making the decision to invite them and we consider their professionalism on stage and out stage (quick changes, punctuality to check sound, good relation with the other bands and so on). And, if we talk about their quality… We take real care about that. The number of people attending was really very good and with quality :-) In the city council they still don’t believe that every year they come so much long-haired people and never has happened a single incident to talk about... Mainly because sometimes there are rock-pop parties with four kids and you can’t believe the circus… (They don’t know how to drink) :-)

Vimos que había un despliegue técnico importante, superior a ediciones anteriores. Y funcionó todo muy bien, salvo los problemas de Dead Over Threat. ¿Vais a publicar videos del festival? Bueno. Publicar no es la palabra. Haremos como el año pasado. Nos montan los videos con sonido de mesa y lo cuelgo en el myspace del festival, para todo el que quiera se copie el html y lo pueda tener. Al menos que pagan entrada, cosa que antes no, pues ese detalle.

There was an important technical support, greater than in past editions. And everything worked fine, except for the troubles with Dead Over Threat. ¿Are you going to publish some videos from the fest? Well. Maybe publish is not the right word. We will do as we done the last year. They mount the videos with direct sound and we will put them in the fest’s myspace, in order to allow everyone who wants can copy the html and gets it. As they pay the entrance bonus, this a gift.

Si tuvieses que resumir, rápido, rápido tu visión del festival ¿Cómo definiríais en un breve titular el KANYA!!! 2009? -Despega otra vez el Kanya!!!

If we ask you for a short summary of this edition ¿How did you define the KANYA!!! 2009? - Kanya!!! Takes off again

Cerrada la edición, toca hablar de la 7ª, el KANYA!!! 2010. ¿Ya está en marcha? ¿Algún avance que puedas comentarnos? -La verdad es que antes de que se hiciese la sexta edición tuve mis grandes dudas de si esto merecía la pena. Ahora lo tengo claro. Ya funciona la próxima edición. Ya hay bandas confirmadas, pero esta vez, hasta diciembre no las haremos oficiales, para que nadie las ponga a tocar 15 días antes y un mes después en las provincias colindantes... (Será que no hay bandas para coger las mismas...) Trataremos de traer una banda con peso que, realmente, será la que haga que el personal se anime a ver las que tocan antes. Y como siempre se dará la oportunidad a bandas que empiezan pero con gran potencial a tocar, que de un modo u otro, era la intención de un principio.

Once the 6th edition is closed, let’s talk about the 7th one, KANYA!!! 2010. ¿It’s running? ¿There’s something you can advance? -As I told you, I’ve had doubts about if all this makes sense before that edition. Now it’s clear for me. The next edition is running. There are bands confirmed for the fest, but we don’t want to make it official until December, to avoid saturation in the immediate time... (With all the good bands we have it’s a pity to get the same ones...) We are trying to get a well known band to attract more people to see the rest that will play before. And, of course, we will try to give opportunities to bands starting but with a great potential as has been always our intention from the very beginning.
